| | It seems to have become a tradition now, or maybe it just worked out that way, but we ended up at my parents' place again in Navarre, FL for our anniversary. We were there last year as well (see my 1st anniversary New Orleans post).
When we placed our bags down in the bedroom, we found a really nice orchid plant, along with an anniversary card and a heart shaped balloon- all very thoughtful of my Mom .
The next day we drove to Biloxi and saw the grand reopening of the Hard Rock. Hurricane Katrina had just struck days before it was originally supposed to open in 2005. Like other Hard Rocks, it had a lot of interesting memorabilia- John Lennon's velvet jacket, Madonna's cone shaped bra, some crazy rhine stone jump suit Elton John wore, etc.
Kid Rock was there too. We waited around a while with a group of people at the front doors to see his entrance, but he ended up using a back entrance instead (I guess ever since his major role with David Spade in "Joe Dirt", he's a big star now- kidding).
Being the high rollers we are, we blew a whole $3 at the nickel machines. Whew- good times.
My mom was really glad we made it down to visit them for our anniversary. Maybe she was just being superstitious and thought being there for 7/7/07 would bring us "luck". Hehe. I'd say we're already fortunate. As usual, it was just nice to spend time with family.
We had plenty of down time, so I took some pics in their backyard with Jeannie's SD600. The macro's not bad for a compact camera.
